On December 5th last, Minister Kathleen Lynch officially launched the DSIDC's new website at the  Royal Irish Academy in Dublin.  The event was attended by an audience of some 50 people, clinicians, researchers, academics and formal and informal caregivers.

PhDs in Dementia

The DSIDC's Living with Dementia Programme, funded by Atlantic Philanthropies, has been very proactive in raising public and professional awareness about dementia.  The programme has graduated six Masters students and two PhD students.

National Survey of Nursing Homes

A new national survey of 603 Irish nursing homes has been launched by the DSIDC in co-operation with Nursing Homes Ireland.  The aim of this survey is to ascertain what proportion of nursing homes around the country have dementia specific units and where in the country these specialist units are located.
