Rethinking Intimacy and Relationships in Dementia Symposium

We are excited to announce that we will be holding our Rethinking Intimacy and Relationships in Dementia Symposium on Wednesday 20th May, from 09:00 – 15:00, in the Guinness Enterprise Centre.

Our relationship with sex and intimacy changes as we age. Even as our physical and mental capabilities may be in decline, our need for intimacy, in whatever form, often continues to burn brightly. However, individually and as a society, there is often an ambivalence towards intimacy between adults with dementia, with much pearl-clutching and hand-wringing resulting.

What is increasingly apparent, though, is that consenting sex, intimacy, and relationships are a vital part of healthy ageing and should be facilitated where possible.

Come and join us and our expert speakers on 20th May to help shine a light on this important topic.

This is a free event and all are welcome.
